There’s no other place quite like it. Think James Bond in Doctor No: sleek copper-roofed stone and glass cottages in a vibrant tropical setting. Developed in the 1960s, Frenchman’s Cove set the benchmark for top-end all-inclusive, the sort patronized by the very rich and the very famous, looking for the best of the Caribbean while protected from the public gaze. Even Royalty stayed here. Sadly damaged by Hurricane Gilbert in the 1980s, the main building, the cottages and the spectacular landscape have all been restored as a more accessible, environmentally friendly destination for those seeking peace and beauty a little off the beaten track. We host the environmentally friendly and socially conscious, whether as individual visitors, wedding groups or small conferences.
Our Home, Port Antonio, on Jamaica’s eastern coast is nestled between the blue mountains and the Caribbean sea. Port Antonio has preserved its charm as a sleepy fishing village whilst still offering the comfort, variety and adventure of a vacation hideaway.

Port Antonio. Settled successively by Taino Indians, Spanish, and British, the town was largely developed in the late nineteenth century as a result of the development of the banana trade. With banana boats plying between Jamaica and the United States, visitors began arriving in Port Antonio, launching the beginnings of Jamaica’s tourist trade. Initially, large Victorian hotels were constructed high on the Titchfield Peninsula that separates Port Antonio’s lovely twin harbours. Eventually the rich and famous discovered the delights of the area, with Hollywood swashbuckler Errol Flynn establishing himself on nearby Navy Island and other celebrities building villas along the coastline. Today Port Antonio serves as the market town for the surrounding area as well as boasting a fine new marina servicing the international yachting crowd.
