Located in Discovery Bay, where Columbus is said to have first landed in Jamaica, A Summer Place has much to offer. Whether you are lounging in the stand-alone hammock, playing a set of night tennis or enjoying the hundred foot expanse of private white sand beach, you are sure to return home rejuvenated and refreshed. If you decide to take a short trip from your villa to swim with the porpoises at nearby Dolphin Cove or gaze at the wonders of the Green Grotto Caves, upon returning, you will cherish the reception of the friendly staff in this fully loaded villa.
For your convenience, this villa features an air conditioned gym with treadmill and elliptical, as well as a computer and Internet access. For families, baby equipment is also available—a high chair and crib. Cool off in the shade of the seaside gazebo or the inspiring 1,500 square foot verandah for some alfresco dining. Full staff is provided. A weekly rental includes your choice of either a special spit-roasted lamb or suckling pig for dinner.
The design and decor of the villa convey both a classic and contemporary feel. The decorative lattices elevated around the verandah are reminiscent of an old world style, while the indoor winding open staircase gives the illusion that it is hanging from above. The rich blue tones of the kitchen evoke the spirit of the sea.
A Summer Place’s seven bedrooms accommodate up to fourteen guests. Families are most welcome. All bedrooms include en-suite bathrooms and air conditioning and boast unique themes. One bedroom features a Jacuzzi and walk-in shower.
At the nearby outdoor museum Columbus Park, the artifacts help tell the story about the Spanish colonial era. Yet you will be transported out of time as you dine by the green grass and turquoise sea. This villa even features a piano for the musically inclined. The winter chills will be far away during your stay at A Summer Place.
